The 3-rd International Contest of cellists named after Svyatoslav Knushevitsky, taking place in April 21-29 with the support of Safmar Charity Foundation, has become a world–class event.
Thirty five participants from nine countries made up a remarkable international showcase of young talents. Each contestant represents his own country: Russia, Turkey, Hungary, China, France, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Belarus. The countries put hopes on the boys and girls, since they are the best of their kind …

One of the main organizers and enthusiasts of the Contest is an apprentice of Svyatoslav Knushevitsky, the Meritorious Worker of Arts of Russia, the Honored Cultural Worker of the Poland Republic, a Jury member Sergei Usanov. He repeatedly underlined in our conversation, that the contest had become possible only due to the sponsorship of Safmar Charity Foundation that played the first violin in the project. Or rather, the first cello!

Thanks to your support, one and only independent music contest in the category “The cello” in Russia managed to gain the descent place in the list of bright national cultural events, to acquire devoted admirers, to earn a great reputation among professionals and international music community. The main outcomes of the competition – conservation and restoration of the richest performing traditions, strengthening and developing the national musical heritage, discovering new talents and, needless to say, the opportunity for close socialization, for our personal and creative contacts, our friendship.
