Saratov. The 3-rd International Contest of Cellists named after Svyatoslav Knushevitsky has been held in Saratov with the support of the Safmar Charity Foundation, having become a world-class event.

The 3-rd International Contest of cellists named after Svyatoslav Knushevitsky, taking place in April 21-29 with the support of Safmar Charity Foundation, has become a world–class event.
Thirty five participants from nine countries made up a remarkable international showcase of young talents. Each contestant represents his own country: Russia, Turkey, Hungary, China, France, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Belarus. The countries put hopes on the boys and girls, since they are the best of their kind …

…  SEE YOU IN TWO YEARS!

One of the main organizers and enthusiasts of the Contest is an apprentice of Svyatoslav Knushevitsky, the Meritorious Worker of Arts of Russia, the Honored Cultural Worker of the Poland Republic, a Jury member Sergei Usanov. He repeatedly underlined in our conversation, that the contest had become possible only due to the sponsorship of Safmar Charity Foundation that played the first violin in the project. Or rather, the first cello!
- “Wonderful people are working there, at the Safmar. They did not bargain with us, they trusted the organizing committee completely, they were very amiable and kept offstage. We are very grateful for their support of the Contest and for the talented youth. On behalf of the entire jury we have forwarded the letter of appreciation to the Head of the Council of Safmar, the Head of RussNeft BOD Mikhail Gutseriev, whose generous personal patronage made this contest happen. “

Young musicians also wrote their letter of appreciation to Mikhail Gutseriev:
“Dear Mikhail Safarbekovitch!
We, the participants of the 3-rd International Contest of the Cello Players after Svyatoslav Krushevitskiy, would like to express our warm gratitude and appreciation to you and to your Safmar Charity Foundation for the opportunity given to remarkable Volga city of Saratov to host the unique world-wide artistic contest of young musicians, already for the third time.
Thanks to your support, one and only independent music contest in the category “The cello” in Russia  managed to gain the descent place in the list of bright national cultural events,  to acquire devoted admirers, to earn a great reputation among professionals and international music community. The main outcomes of the competition – conservation and restoration of the richest performing traditions, strengthening and developing the national musical heritage, discovering new talents and, needless to say, the opportunity for close socialization, for our personal and creative contacts, our friendship. The real Art has no limits! We believe that the exclusive, large-scale and prominent project, initiated in 2012, will find its path in the future.

Thanks for everything!

Sincerely yours,

The participants, diploma winners and laureates of the 3-rd International Contest of Cellists after S. Krushevitsky, City of Saratov, April 2016.”
