As a part of its charitable activities RussNeft provided support for XV Saratov Governor`s Cup regional street-soccer tournament for boys.
The second and third place playoffs have been held in Children Recreation Centre Rovesnik (the founder – OAO Saratovneftegaz, a subsidiary of RussNeft). A total of 260 young sportsmen from 19 municipal districts competed here at the beginning of September. The oil-industry workers created all necessary conditions for young players and their coaches, having provided them with comfortable accommodation and 4 meals a day, having equipped three play grounds and having taken care of their leisure time.
It is noteworthy, that street soccer united more than 50 thousand little residents of the region, with 500 children taking part in the final stage of the tournament. For many of them this is hardly the only way to conduct healthy way of life. The majority of the beginners are orphans or children from incomplete or low-income families, as well as from socially vulnerable families.
Adhering to basic principle of corporate social responsibility, the top management of RussNeft and its subsidiary traditionally supports such projects of social importance, which are successfully implemented on the basis of Children Recreation Centre Rovesnik. Built by Saratov oilmen on the picturesque bank of the Volga River, the centre is going to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Nowadays it is one of the most popular recreation places of the region, where the large-scale creative and sporting events are regularly held. Among the latter – XVI Open Regional Spartakiada (sport games) of students of junior adaptive sports school Rehabilitation and Physical Education, youth project We are children of the Cosmos, inter-regional creative school Volga Rainbow and others. In addition thereto, Rovesnik often hosts students from Moscow Theatre Studio School of Oleg Tabakov and Saratov Art School named after Bogolyubov. Annually, RussNeft allocates up to 9 mln. rubles for Saratov schoolchildren summer recreation. Last summer hundreds of little residents of Saratov municipal areas (including very distant), where RussNeft and Saratovneftegaz conduct their operations, vacationed and got medical treatment. RussNeft Chairman Mikhail Gutseriev, famous businessman and philanthropist, ordered to maintain the level of the charity programme financing, in spite of harsh current economic situation.
