Deputies Give Their Approval to RussNeft to Build a Refinery

12.01.2006 "Nash Bryansk"

Industry deputies have given approval to oil company RussNeft to build a refinery in the area of Zhecha station. This issue was discussed at a meeting on January 12. The decision came as a result of the study of seven volumes of the project documents submitted by RussNeft and the visit to the area of Zhecha station where the already existing oil loading terminal functions.

The future refinery will create 1,742 jobs. To build the refinery fifty billion rubles will be required which fact holds out good promise for local subcontractors. The refinery production capacity is going to be six million tons of processed crude oil to yield gas oil, fuel oil, bitumen, etc. Already today twenty two dwelling houses are being built for the families to be moved. Many deputies of the regional Duma with Chairman Vladimir Gaidukov at the head have visited the construction site and the existing oil loading terminal. They got acquainted with the layout of the entire process, whereupon Lyudmila Komogortseva,  Chairman of Environmental Protection and Nature Management Committee, noted: “If everything is going to be as it is in the project, the local ecology will get improved”.
