14.06.2012 “Neft I kapital”

Khanty-Mansiysk. OAO NAK AKI-OTYR, subsidiary of OAO NK RussNeft, develops geographic information systems (GIS) in surveying.

A new complex method is applied to the wells three-dimensional position management within this activity. Universal geoinformation system now allows maximum accuracy in identification of the coordinates of wells and boreholes positions decreasing the drilling risks.

Well Tracking 3.0 geoinformation system was used to run a GIS-project based on ESRI technology. It allows to perform a number of tasks: gathering, correction and accumulation of information in the local and corporate geographic databases, as well as exchange of information for various sources.

Implementation of Well Tracking system helped the company to build a common internal geographic database and increase the data processing rate by the surveying department. The new information system creates an integral picture of the wells of the whole company and allows to monitor effectively the technological and business processes related with drilling on the corporate level.

OAO NAK AKI-OTYR intends to widen the experience of GIS application for solution of management and production tasks. GIS technologies will be used for geologic surveys, exploration and development. Application of such drilling data management software complexes is scheduled for all subsidiaries of OAO NK RussNeft.
