The first of September is not far off.

17.08.2005 "TVC"

Not only the first-formers to be and their parents but also Russia’s businessmen remember about it. Our TV team visited Grozny to attend the opening ceremony of a super modern school which had been donated to the town by one of the oil companies.

The new school has been built on the site of the old school destroyed in the war. As of today it is the best school in the region. The ceremony was attended by President of Chechen Republic Alu Alkhanov and high-rank officials of the
Republic.  But the most important person here was the hero of the occasion Mikhail Gutseriev, President of RussNeft. It was he who financed the construction of the school especially since he had studied here long time ago, in School No 23. The ceremony was attended by the classmates and teachers of Gutseriev whom he had looked for throughout the whole country in order to invite to the opening.
The new school is designed for 540 pupils. It is equipped with the latest modern facilities and has a 300-seat stadium, a theater and everything required for children. The first pupils were enrolled to the school right at the opening ceremony.
Mikhail Gutseriev says “The school must be adequate, the conditions must be fitting, the teachers must be efficient and then worthy people will be brought up. Or at least such people who will never take the gun into their hands. It is quite enough. Chechnya is recovering and such social development will allow the Chechenian people to recover”.
Each year the Republic is going to have substantial support from RussNeft. Reconstruction of a big hospital in the Urus-Martansky region of Chechnya will come next.
