Raduzhny. KhMAO-YUGRA. OAO Varioganneft, the subsidiary of RussNeft, laid out a symbolic “Avenue to the future” on the occasion of the 40-th anniversary of the Company.
The enthusiasts of Youth Council planted 30 trees on the lot adjacent to the office and set a memorial plate.
According to the organizers, the avenue would symbolize continuity between generations of oil and gas industry veterans and young specialists of the Company - successors of the glorious traditions of Varioganneft oilmen.
Open joint-stock company Varioganneft is one of the oldest oil enterprises of Western Siberia. The official history of the Company extends back 40 years, but the development of the oilfield had started much earlier. In 1967 exploration well No.1P of Variogan oilfield penetrated the gas-bearing formation, and in 1968 the drilling of the well No. 2P was initiated, having produced the first gush of oil. This well drilling marked the beginning of discovery and development history of Variogan field, the commercial production of which was started in May 1974.
Currently, Varioganneft is incorporated into RussNeft, producing and treating oil in the territories of Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenetskiy autonomies. It develops Varioganskoye, Novo-Aganskoye and Valyuninskoye fields and provides operator’s services on oil production to the following companies: OOO Belye nochi (Zapadno-Varioganskoye and Tagrinskoye license blocks), OOO Novo-Aganskoye and OOO Valyuninskoye. Cumulative production for Varyogan Block totals 246 mln. tons of oil, while А+В+С1 initial recoverable reserves exceed 400 million tons.
OAO Varioganneft has a reasonable reputation of an elite training center, since the majority of current top managers of the city enterprises, as well as many oil companies executives of regional and federal levels have come from Varioganneft.
The hallmarks of the Company include maintaining its longstanding traditions, continuity in management, social orientation and responsibility.
Over the past 40 years the Company has managed to expand engineering infrastructure of Variogan oil block, to change its upstream technologies, to apply up-to-date methods of intensification. Nevertheless Varioganneft keeps its major characteristics, namely powerful potential, traditions, willingness and ability to reach new heights, unchanged.
