10.06.2016 SAMOTLOR-EXPRESS

Khanty-Mansiysk. KhMAO-Yugra. The first multistage hydraulic fracking in OAO NAK Aki-Otyr, producing subsidiary of RussNeft, has been successful. The technology will be propagated, according to the company’s press service.

The results of the multistage straddle hydraulic fracking, performed at the horizontal Well 5011 of Verkhne-Shapshinskoye field in April 2016, being the first in the company’s history, were summarized at Well Pad 9 of Verkhne-Shapshinskoye field.
According to OAO NAK Aki-Otyr geologists, the pilot operation was preceded by big preparatory work to select the target, study and simulate the АС12/3-5 formation deposit. Logging and interpreted data suggested the direction and the structure of the well. The multistage hydraulic fracking at Well 5011 of Verkhne-Shapshinskoye field involved innovations in simulation of the well, drilling, and accurate design of the horizontal section of the borehole, as well as new compositions of the hydraulic fracking chemicals.
“Drilling of the pilot well for the multistage hydraulic fracking at Verkhne-Shapshinskoye Well 5011 commenced late in February 2016, according to Kalikan Osipov, chief geologist of OAO NAK Aki-Otyr. Well 5011 at Well Pad 9 was used to drill a 1000 m horizontal section, perform eight stages of hydraulic fracking and inject totally 800 tons of proppant. The expected initial production rate per well after the multistage hydraulic fracking was 120 tons/day, but the well picked up and produced up to 180 tons in the first days after the start-up. It has stabilized now and gives around 160 tons/day which is one third above the expected rate.”
The success of the first multistage hydraulic fracking allowed to plan drilling of three more horizontal tracks. Currently, drilling of the second well for a multistage hydraulic fracking is near completion at Well Pad 9.
Five more wells are scheduled for a multistage hydraulic fracking at АС12/3-5 target by the year end.
Totally, 34 wells are intended to be started up after drilling and hydraulic fracking over the company in 2016 which will allow to add over 240 thousand tons of oil production.
