Ulyanovsk. OAO Ulyanovskneft, the subsidiary of Russneft, has acquired 20 beam pumping units, not used in the operations, from OAO Varioganneft (also incorporated into RussNeft Holding) with the goal of upgrading the equipment stock of Ulyanovskneft.
These units, manufactured by Lufkin Company, are one of the most reliable and durable, and are recognized worldwide as gold standard of the industry. In the production of beam pumping unit and Lufkin gears, plain bearings are used. Taking into account their technical characteristics and reputed error-free operations, they are the most promising in machinery. According to statistics, such bearings show the lowest number of failures in comparison with rolling bearings used in ordinary gears of Russia-made beam pumping units. When the rolling bearing is destroyed, the entire construction is destroyed too. Thus, Ulyanovsk oilmen would be able to minimise maintenance of units, reduce expenses on spare parts, and decrease the number of overhauls for surface equipment for artificial lift.
