VARIOGANNEFT IMPLEMENTS GAS PROGRAMME

29.12.2016 INTERFAX

Raduzhny. Varioganneft is intensely developing its gas business, aimed at more profit from associated petroleum gas supplies and greater effectiveness of its utilization. Following the year`s results, the cumulative gas production increased by 34% and amounted to 1.586 billion m³.

The gas utilization rate in Varioganneft is over 95%, being reached through smooth and productive work of entire collective that ensures 100% loading of process facilities and ground infrastructure. In particular, a low-pressure gas pipeline (with a tie-in gas pipeline from the DNS booster pump station via Roslavlskoye oilfield) from Zapadno-Variogansky area FWKO unit to KS-3 Varioganskaya gas compressor station has been constructed to address these objectives. Oil-and-gas gathering infrastructure of Novo- Aganskoye oilfield was significantly expanded, allowing better environmental and process parameters of the operations. The array of measures have been undertaken, particularly conversion of the boilers at the Varioganskoye oilfield to the gas fuel, thus helping to reduce hazardous emissions, fuel and energy consumption, as well as to increase boilers efficiency and heating supply reliability of the facilities of Variogan block.

Furthermore, the upgraded system of electrical power generation at Valyuninskoye field is intended to utilize APG. Use of gas-piston power stations allows to partially stop using diesel power plants for electrical power generation at this distant field. Thus, several problems are solved - the cost of expensive fuel is minimised, the utilization of associated gas is increased, and Valyuninskoye field is supplied with power.

The gas energy development, APG utilization effectiveness and greater volumes of gas for further processing are among the priorities of the company`s operations. In 2017, OAO Varioganneft is planning to produce over 1.6 bln m³ of associated petroleum gas.
